Thomas Sergant, the third cousin three-times-removed on the mother's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Hanna, LaPorte, Indiana, USA on Nov 24, 18801. He was married 3 times - to Rosetta Bixler (on Sep 22, 1905) Mary Bennett (on Feb 24, 1919) Elizabeth Smith (on Jul 18, 1936 in Starke, Indiana, USA).

Throughout his life, Thomas lived in several places: at his birthplace on Jun 7, 19001 and on Apr 29, 1910; in La Porte, Indiana in 1917 (the same place as his father had been living on Jun 7, 1900); in La Porte, LaPorte, Indiana on Jan 12, 1920 following the death of his wife on May 3, 1918; at Monroe Hotel, LaPorte, La Porte, Indiana on Apr 9, 1930; and at his birthplace in 1942 and in 1943 which is where he died on Nov 22, 1954 (heart attack). He was buried there at Hanna Cemetery on Nov 24, 1954.
