Hedley Atkinson, the third cousin twice-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Harcourt, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada on Jan 28, 1868 and married Amelia Livingston (with whom he had 1 child, Douglas Hedley) in Harcourt on Dec 28, 1892.

He died on May 18, 1934 in Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada.
