William Pope, the first cousin four-times-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Folkestone, Kent, England on Mar 2, 18271,2,3, was baptized there at Zion Chapel, Fenchurch St on May 27, 1827 and married Elizabeth Robinson (with whom he had 6 children: Elizabeth Elliott, William Robinson, Charles, John Isaac, Annie and Edith Abigail) in Bermondsey, London, England around May 18526. Like his father, he was a builder.

William spent all of his life in Kent, England. Throughout his life, he lived in several places around the county: at Fancy Street in Folkestone on Jun 6, 18411; on Mill Lane in Folkestone on Mar 30, 185110 and on Apr 7, 18618; at Fancy Street in Folkestone on Apr 2, 18717 (the same place as his parents had been living on Jun 6, 1841); and at East Cliff Gardens in Folkestone on Mar 31, 19019.

He died on Feb 25, 1915 at 13 Marine Crescent in Folkestone3,4,5 and was buried at Cheriton Road Cemetery, Folkestone on Feb 27, 1915.
