Esther Poysden, the great-great-grandmother of Nigel Horne, was born in Canterbury, Kent, England in 18251,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, was baptized in Blean, Kent, England on Jun 27, 1825 and married George Dale (an agricultural laborer with whom she had 9 children: George, Mary, Sophia, Sarah Ann, Edward, Esther Louisa, William Thomas, Henry and Leonard) at St Mary's Church, Chartham, Kent, England on Oct 13, 184911 (Chartham Parish Church).

Esther spent all of her life in Kent, England. Throughout her life, she lived in several places around the county: in Chartham in 18411 and in 18512; in Chartham Hatch on Apr 7, 186112 (the same place as her parents had been living on Mar 30, 1851), on Apr 2, 187114 and on Apr 3, 18816; in Chartham on Apr 5, 18917 following the death of her husband on Feb 3, 1891; and at 88 Church Hill, Temple Ewell, Kent, England on Mar 31, 19018.

She died on Feb 28, 1902 Church Hill in Temple Ewell9 (influenza, pneumonia, pleurisy) and was buried in Temple Ewell on Mar 6, 1902.
