Charlotte Marsh, the four times great-aunt of Nigel Horne, was born in Elham, Kent, England in 17931,2, was baptized there on Oct 6, 1793 and married William Standing (an agricultural laborer with whom she had 11 children: James, John, Mary Ann, William, Stephen, Charlotte, William, George, William Henry, Charlotte Ann and William) in Folkestone, Kent, England on Sep 29, 18134.

Charlotte spent all of her life in Kent, England. Throughout her life, she lived in several places around the county: on Lime Kiln Cottage, Dover Road in Folkestone on Jun 6, 18416; in Folkestone in 18511; and on Dover Road in Folkestone on Mar 30, 18515 and on Apr 7, 18617.

She died on Dec 13, 1862 on Canterbury Road in Folkestone3 (apoplexy) and was buried at Cheriton Road Cemetery, Folkestone on Dec 19, 1862.
