Johanna Edwards, the great-great-grandmother of Nigel Horne, was born in St Lawrence, Thanet, Kent, England in 18311,2,3,4,5,6,7, was baptized there on Jan 30, 1831 and also married William Lawrence (a harbor laborer with whom she had 11 children: George, Mary Carter, William, John, Annie, Elizabeth, Daniel, James, Hannah, Jane and Emily) there, on Nov 22, 18519.

Johanna spent all of her life in Kent, England. Throughout her life, she lived in several places around the county: at her birthplace on Jun 6, 184110 and in 18512 (the same place as her parents had been living in 1841); on Chapel Lane, St Lawrence, Thanet, Kent, England on Apr 7, 186112; at Rear of Southwood Lodge, St Lawrence in Thanet on Apr 2, 187111; at 3 Providence Cottage, St Lawrence in Thanet on Apr 5, 18915; on 3 Lorne Road, St Lawrence in Thanet on Mar 31, 190113, when she was living with her daughter Elizabeth following the death of her husband on Jun 11, 1898; and on 16 Bloomsbury Road, Ramsgate on Apr 2, 191114.

She died on Jan 31, 1917 at 2 Mutrix Cottages, Garlinge, Kent8 (senile decay).
