Richard Colpitts, the husband of Anne Atkinson Peters (the second cousin three-times-removed on the father's side of Nigel Horne), was born in New Brunswick, Canada on Sep 16, 18521,2,3,4,5,6,7 and married Anne (with whom he had 8 children: Robert Noble, Emma Alverda, Sarah Rowena Maude, Maud, Henry Jones, Ralph Watson, Carrie Eliza Ida and Clara Agnes) in New Brunswick on Nov 21, 1876.

Richard spent all of his life in New Brunswick, Canada. Throughout his life, he lived in Elgin, Albert, New Brunswick in 18611, in 18712, in 18913 and in 19014; and in Westmorland, New Brunswick in 19118.

He died on May 20, 1917 in New Brunswick7 and was buried in Pleasant Vale, Albert, New Brunswick after May 20, 19177.
