Alvin Sargent, the third cousin three-times-removed on the mother's side of Nigel Horne, was born in Hanna, LaPorte, Indiana, USA on Dec 21, 18791,2,3,4 and married Daisy Eyler (with whom he had 3 children: Mervin Charles, Glen Russel and Bessie Irene) in Osceola, Polk, Nebraska, USA on Aug 1, 1899.

Throughout his life, Alvin lived in several places: at his birthplace on Jun 8, 1880; in Valley, Nebraska on Jun 2, 1885; in Canada, Nebraska on Jun 14, 1900, on Apr 20, 19105 (the same place as his father had been living in 1900), on Jan 9, 1920, on Apr 12, 19306 and on Apr 20, 19407; and in Shelby, Nebraska in 1942. He served in the military from 1917 to 1918 (world War I Draft Registration Cards).

He died on Jan 5, 1950 in Polk1,2,3 and was buried at Graceland Cemetery, Shelby, Nebraska after Jan 5, 19501,3.
