Sarah Bennett, the great-great-grandmother of Nigel Horne, was born in Wingham, Kent, England c. 18321,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, was baptized there on Aug 24, 1832 and also married Troward Cowell (an agricultural laborer with whom she had 2 children: John and Troward) there at St Mary the Virgin Church, on May 13, 185610 (Married in Wingham Parish Church).

Sarah spent all of her life in Kent, England. Throughout her life, she lived in several places around the county: in Preston, Kent, England in 18411; at her birthplace in 18512; at Stodmarsh Street, Stodmarsh on Apr 7, 186115; at Nethergone, Chislet on Apr 2, 187111; in Island Road, Westbere on Apr 3, 18815; in Upstreet on Apr 5, 18916 and on Mar 31, 19017; and at Woodchurch Farm, Acol on Apr 2, 191112.

She died on Feb 12, 1919 on Union Workhouse, Mill Lane, Eastry, Kent9 (senile decay Death certificate says window of John Cowell, but I don't believe that to be correct. Perhaps that was Troward's middle name?) and was buried at St Nicholas Church, Ash, Kent on Feb 18, 1919.
