Mary Measday, the 3 times great-grandmother of Nigel Horne, was born in Wingham, Kent, England c. 18111,2,3,4,5,6, was baptized there on Sep 29, 1811 and married John Bennett (an agricultural laborer with whom she had 9 children: Sarah Rebecca, Barbara, John, Mary, William, Charles, Samuel, George and Henry) at St Andrew's Church, Wickhambreaux, Kent, England on May 14, 18318 (Kent Family History Society CD22).

Mary spent all of her life in Kent, England. Throughout her life, she lived in several places around the county: at Fourturnings, Preston in Wingham on Mar 30, 185110; in Preston in 18612; at Fourturnings, Preston in Wingham on Apr 7, 186111; in Preston in 18713; in Bramling, Littlebourne on Apr 3, 18814; and at Wingham Street in Wickhambreaux on Apr 5, 18915.

She died c. Jan 1897 in Eastry, Kent6,7 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church in Wingham on Jan 4, 18979.
